What kind of life would you plan for your child?
Of course, you will want the very best for your child, not an anguishing life or a languishing life, but a flourishing life that will bring out the best in him. A flourishing life holds the promise of happiness, enjoyment, satisfaction, and purpose.
But a flourishing life does not come by default or naturally. It is the outcome of real efforts by the person themselves and those around them, such as you, their parents, and other caregivers.
In simple terms, we say a flourishing life is a good quality of life. Quality of Life (QoL) is optimised when a core set of indicators is met. One such framework is the one produced by the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) and the Autism Association (Singapore), based on a study of different QoL frameworks around the world.
